Back to see my friends at @wild.wheels and Hi -Range Safari City in #gaborone today. Just shoring up our recovery equipment before a big solo trip to the #CKGR with the #Pajero. @frontrunneroutfitters @frontrunnerza @oppositelockza @oppositelock4x4 #centralkalaharigamereserve #offroad #equipped #overland #overlanding #overlandafrica #mitsubishipajero #onourown #botswana #4x4 (PSSST. Their new showroom is under construction 🚧, but Hi Range still has all the overland and off-road tools you need to travel safely and well in the African #wilderness .) @bjclaassen69 @chrtho83 #kudu #carpaccio @no1ladiescoffeehouse in #gaborone #botswana #lunch #game #expatlife #mmmmm New @goodyear #allterrains for the #Pajero. Super Tyres in #gaborone = top notch service and excellent prices. And, I love the smell of a tire shop😀😀 #newshoes #shoesmaketheman #tires #tyres #kevlar #adventure #overland #botswana #offroad (Thanks @bill.edwards.10297 !) On our big #overland #adventure through southern #africa the RSi @smartcanopy on our @wild.wheels #landcruiser was our constant companion. Dust free, rock solid, secure, and super convenient, it was the one piece of equipment we used more than any other on a daily basis. The stainless steel canopy worked so well, we never gave it a second thought - which is what a well-engineered product should do. #africaoverland #overlanding #4x4 #smartcanopy w/ @cosedivine @sa4x4

There were so many awesome vehicles to see at Overland Expo East, not the least of which were the Land Rovers. For your viewing pleasure:

Oh, and P.S. – we got to drive one on the Land Rover Overland Skills & Awareness course (that smile you see is the result of my first experience with off-road driving. Who knew I wanted a Land Rover?):

I love those old Defenders. Before I bought my Jeep, I looked around to see what it would cost me to get 110. In the end I determed I couldn’t afford a 110. I could have gotten a nicely restored 90 for about the same money.

    1. I don’t know what it is, but something about a Land Rover just screams “ADVENTURE!” (at least the older ones).
